Dynamic Marking of Cells - Manipulation of nanobeads with magnetic fields

Prof. Dr. Bernhard Wolf

The New Dynamic Marker technique uses time varying magnetic fields for moving and spatially fixing magnetically marked objects reversibly and uniquely. Possible applications are: magnetic field driven drug delivery to a desired target, detection and counting the subpopulation of cells applicable in different media. New diagnostic and therapeutic applications can be developed: transfection of cells in culture, destruction of thromboses, removal of artherosclerotic plaques from the arterial interior, implanted nano-scaled pumps and ventiles supplied from extracorporal energy sources.

Staggered formation caused by migratory magnetic fields.
